Sherlock Horns ft Mud & Fyah

Sherlock Horns & Mud & Fyah Soundsystem will offer a very special concert during the Sunday opening of Refractor 2025—a powerful live dub ceremony to welcome the final day with warmth, fire, and deep vibration.

Sherlock Horns is a soulful and fiery brass duo from Extremadura, Spain, featuring Derek Mc Ardle on saxophone and Toni Martín on trombone. Drawing inspiration from the golden age of Jamaican music, their sound blends reggae melodies with deep dub rhythms to create a timeless, evocative atmosphere. Since their formation, they have become a unique presence in international Sound System culture, performing at renowned festivals such as Womad UK, Womad Cáceres, Rototom Sunsplash and Reno Splash Festival in Italy.

They have released standout tracks like Chase the Storm with Cool Up Records and Elementary, My Dear Dubstoned with Variedub—both rich with melodic brass, echo-laden dubs, and meditative vibes. More than just session musicians, Sherlock Horns are sonic storytellers whose music channels resistance, healing, and unity.

At Refractor 2025, they’ll unite with Mud & Fyah Soundsystem to deliver a unique performance—an earthy, immersive experience of heavy bass, hypnotic echoes, and burning brass rooted in the heart of sound system tradition.
