SOLMA (FR)
Solma draws inspiration from the hypnotic pulse of modern deep techno and the vibrant energy of UK bass music, weaving these influences into his own psychedelic sound. As the Paris-based producer and co-founder of Virtual Forest Records, he has cultivated a signature style defined by meticulous sound design that fluidly crosses genre boundaries and rates.
His live sets, often exceeding 170 BPM, are a whirlwind of rapid, high-energy performances, blending DnB, halftime, and tribe, all immersed in deeply psychedelic textures and stimulating synths. Every performance is an immersive experience, crafted to captivate the audience in a state of boundless dance.
Solma's DJ sets can be seen as an extension of his producer’s vision, where each session becomes a fresh space for experimentation aimed at the dance floor. His approach to DJing creates diverse sonic narratives that invite listeners into a state of limitless movement and exploration.
From late 2023, Solma began releasing a substantial volume of music, with an EP on Crescent London, or tracks in labels like Hess Publica, Blue Night Jungle, Osmura and Techlab. He also contributed a podcast to Hypnus Records' renowned “The Memoir” series, showcasing all-original productions.
This year, Solma has played at a variety of clubs, radio stations, and festivals, including Le Sample, Rinse FR, Egregore, Pan D’Or, Love On The Other Planet, and La Vallée Électrique, where he performed a live, improvisational set as Biotope alongside artists like Hidolas, Paul Reve, Lost In Material, Iloh, and N.A.W.L. Looking ahead, he’s slated to join the lineup at Positive Education in November, continuing to expand his unique sound across the electronic music landscape.
