FORMANT VALUE (IT)
With roots in rural Italy, Formant Value is consistently carving his musical path in the heart
of London’s fervent underground electronic music scene. He has become known for his
unique, sophisticated sound defying easy categorisation whilst nodding in the direction of downtempo, dub and IDM, as well as integrating elements of D’n’B, trance and techno in its clubbier iterations.
His music has been released by a number of independent international labels including Lowless Records, Well Street Records, rgd tribe and Annulled Music. Each release a new
chapter in his perpetually evolving and maturing sound narrative rich in curious exploration beyond genre and tempo boundaries.
Akin to his music production aesthetics and technique is Lorenzo’s approach to DJing. He manages to build ferociously dynamic, shapeshifting journeys dwelling in murky, bass-heavy depths, swarming with finessed sound design details riding on swells of glitched-out ambient textures. Adept at sustaining the fine tension between dancefloor energy and audiophile precision of intent home listening, Formant Value brings a uniquely fresh take on what contemporary club music can (and should) sound and feel like.
