NATURE IS OFTEN PRESENT IN YOUR WORK, HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH IT?

With its grandeur and complexity, nature provides me with an endless source of wonder an inspiration. It is difficult to explain my relationship with it, but I must convey that we are not separate from nature but deeply interconnected.

In addition to nature being a significant source of inspiration, it can be awe-inspiring an sometimes even intimidating. As I answer these questions, I find myself in an artist residenc in Iceland, where the power and grandeur of nature can really be felt.

There are moment when you truly sense how minuscule we are compared to the overwhelming nature, showing the impermanence of us humans.

YOUR WORK IS SURROUNDED BY A QUITE INTERESTING SCENARIO BETWEEN SCIENCE, ART AND TECHNOLOGY, HOW WOULD YOU IMAGINE THE FUTURE OF THE HUMANITY THROUGH YOUR PERCEPTION?

Despite current challenges to the well-being of our planet, I remain optimistic about the future. My optimism stems from my belief in the transformative power of science, art, and technology when applied responsibly. As we explore opportunities to venture onto othe planets, we must also recognize the urgent need to protect and preserve our planet.

While I am committed to working for a better future, I also advocate having faith in th resilience of nature itself. While human actions have undoubtedly caused damage, we should not underestimate the Earth's ability to recover as we make a concerted effort t protect its ecosystems.

ONE OF YOUR LATEST COLLABORATIONS HAS BEEN WITH DRAAIMOLEN FESTIVAL, HOW WAS IT LIKE TO WORK IN THAT MAGIC FOREST?

The forest where Draaimolen is held is truly special to me. It's been nearly five years since we first stepped into this magical place, and it's become a place of unforgettable memories.

As we prepare for the event, we call this forest our home for over a month. Most of the crew camp on-site, and waking up surrounded by nature is a fantastic perk!

This edition of the festival was the first time I worked with Draaimolen as an independen artist, which allowed me to view the event from a different perspective and made appreciate the festival even more.

MOST OF THE MATERIALES YOU WORK WITH ARE NATURAL, WHICH ARE YOUR FAVOURITES AND THE ONES THAT INSPIRE YOU THE MOST?

Currently, glass is the medium I like to work with the most. It has unique properties.

It is fragile and strong at the same time it can be shaped and formed in various ways while still being transparent. And the way glass refracts light is fascinating. This leads to objects withsense of depth and movement.

Nevertheless, there are also other materials I like to work with, such as stone and metal.

Yet, my current artistic focus primarily revolves around the remarkable possibilities of glass.
